Intro 💰
For some luxury houses, there is a different position – they are a unique home. Of all these houses, you will not have a peer who can live in the house of even more opulence and splendor. Architectural beauty, the best-equipped kitchen, luxurious bathrooms, the most spacious living room and above all, the most beautiful view of nature. These are some of the world’s most expensive homes, where you can only imagine what it’s like to live in such a house by paying a very hefty price – from royal palaces to modern architecture, these homes provide some glimpse of the lives of the richest people in the world.
XANADU 2.0, WASHINGTON DC, STATI UNITI 🏡
The tenth is Xanadu 2.0, a house with every imaginable hi-tech novelty, installed in the house of Bill Gates in Washington State. It is located on the shore of the Lake Washington in the forest and offers total privacy. Xanadu 2.0 is at the centre of a 66,000-square-foot estate around the lake. It has seven bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, a 23-car garage, a 20-seat cinema, a 60-foot swimming pool with underwater sound system and a gym with locker room.
There’s a 200-sq m library, a private cinema, an artificial river stocked with salmon and trout, and a private beach on the lake, for an estimated sum of $130 million.
KENSINGTON GARDENS – BILIONAIRES ROW 🏙️
Bringing up the rear of the top 10 is Kensington Gardens (or Billionaires Row as it is now known), whose residents include the Indian steel king Lakshmi Mittal, head of ArcelorMittal, the world’s largest steel producer, whose house of white marble (from the same quarry that produced the marble for the Taj Mahal) has 12 bedrooms, two Turkish baths, garaging for 20 cars, an indoor pool, and pristine gardens — all of it estimated to be worth $133 million.
SEVEN THE PINNACLE, MONTANA, USA ⛰️
Number eight is Seven The Peak in Montana, the biggest home in the luxury, private ski- and golf-resort community Yellowstone Club for the rich. It features a giant lodge-style house between green shrubbery and white snow, and, of course, is $155 million-dollar worth. With several storeys, it includes a gym, wine cellar, private ski lift and a heated floor.
BEVERLY HILLS CALIFORNIA 🌴
Coming in seventh is the Beverly Hills estate Palazzo di Amore (listed in November 2014 as the most expensive single-family dwelling in the US), completed in 2012 and 53,000 sq ft with 12 bedrooms and 25 bathrooms, plus a 5,000 sq ft master suite, and a 15,000 sq ft entertainment centre with bowling alley, cinema and nightclub.
An asking price of $195 million gets you a garage with room for 24 automobiles, plus 25 acres of grounds (vineyard, infinity pool and tennis court included).
ELLISON ESTATE, CALIFORNIA, USA 🏞️
The sixth is the Ellison Estate, owned by the American business mogul Lawrence (Larry) Ellison, co-founder of the computer corporation Oracle. The Ellision Estate is worth $200 million. Its grounds comprise 10 buildings and include a man-made lake, a tea house, a spa and a tea house – all in the style of Japanese architecture. It is 93,000 square feet.
FOUR FAIRFIELD POND, NEW YORK, USA 🏠
Fourth, Four Fairfield Pond in New York ($250 million); house: 5,900 sq metres; total: more than 10,000 sq metres; owner: Ira Rennert; bedrooms: 29; swimming pools: three; illuminated: yes; dining room: 91 ft long; second biggest residence in the US.
ANTILIA, MUMBAI, INDIA 🇮🇳
Fourth is Antilia in Mumbai in India, the 27-storey home of the Indian industrialist Mukesh Ambani. However, because it has super-high ceilings, at 400,000 sq ft the property is the equivalent of a 60-storey building. It has six floors of parking space for 168 cars, a dance floor, a spa, a wellness centre, a ballroom and so on.
It costs $1 billion to live here: the house of the Ambani family also contains three swimming pools – large enough to swim Olympic-style – and an ice room, to escape the heat of Mumbai.
BUCKINGHAM PALACE, LONDRA, REGNO UNITO 👑
Finally, at the top of the list is Buckingham Palace in the country’s capital, London in the United Kingdom. It is the British monarch’s home and the headquarters of the Royal family, and is one of the few great royal palaces still in full use today. It contains 775 rooms, 19 state rooms, 52 royal and guest bedrooms and a multitude of offices.
And it is the cheapest house on earth. Buckingham Palace, the home of the British royal family, is Britain’s priciest property, with an estimated value of about £1.17 billion.
